Because I Am a Breathtakingly Interesting Person, I'm Reviewing a Pencil Sharpener Today

Yes, that's right.

I am your source for the myriad electric thrills that come with being a homeschooling mom. Free pencil sharpeners! A free blog on which to review them! I am fascinating!

Troy Decoff offered to send me a free pencil sharpener from his Classroom Friendly Supplies company for possible review  and I said, yeah, sure, why not, mostly because it turns out that Troy is a public school teacher and I totally get (since one of my favorite people in the entire world is a public school teacher) that public school teachers, sadly, have to do things to supplement their incomes.

Anyway. The thing arrived a couple of weeks ago and we tried it out. It's a manual sharpener that automatically stops once the pencil is sharp, which is an amiable thing for a pencil sharpener to do. We now have copious sharp pencils, as in, every, single pencil in our house is dangerously pointed.

We've also had to remove lead from the sharpener when said lead has gotten stuck, and Troy's handy-dandy video (on his site) showed us how easy it is to take the sharpener apart.

I haven't done many reviews lately, as I don't have a lot of free time and so I end up reviewing only things or books I love. I actually said out loud, "I love this pencil sharpener."

I did. I said it.

I'm breathtakingly interesting.

I'm just as interesting, because your review really captured my attention. I bought one -- and I'm not usually a spontaneous buyer kind of gal. Can't wait to try it out. Our electric sharpener frustrates me and I was really on the lookout for another kind. The video on their site was super helpful and was the final convincer.

Lol, your post made my day! I have so many family and friends that laugh at me over what excites me these days. :D I was very intrigued by your review...I like traditional pencils but we are awful about keeping them sharpened (and found, lol). We inevitably end up spending more on mechanical pencils (disposable ones, because we are just as bad keeping up with extra lead. I know, shameful)that we don't have to worry about. Going to check this out.

Thanks so much! :)

Karen: my breath is officially taken. And as a victim of many a malevolent pencil sharpener, I sincerely thank you. ;-)

Hannah: Then my work here is done. :)

Kat, glad you understand, and Jennifer, I hope you love it as much as I do. As I mentioned in the review, we've only had it a couple of weeks, but it sharpens perfectly, & the lead doesn't break off the pencil the minute Ramona starts to write. I never liked any of our electric ones either!
