Books for girls discerning a call to religious life?

I have a friend whose daughter would like to do some research on various orders, and on discernment of one's vocation.

Ideas for books and websites would be appreciated -- thanks!

I'm not sure how old she is, but the book that REALLY helped me in my discernment was "In This House of Brede." Soooo good.

Ones that helped me were:

"...And You Are Christ's:" The Charism of Virginity and the Celibate Life by Thomas Dubay, SM

A Right to Be Merry by Mother Mary Francis, PCC

I would suggest getting her involved in a Nun Run of some kind--where you go and visit different orders and get to talk to actual Religious. We just did this locally with our homeschool group and it was a powerful day for all of the girls and their Moms. We visited 3 different orders, got to ask them about their vocations, about the work that they do, pray with them, eat with them. It was an amazing day.

Some of us Moms are hoping to go to the Nun Run in Phoenix next Spring (highlighted on EWTN, I think). We've talked about trying to do a longer trip to different cities in the future, as well.

Hello! I am currently discerning and I went on a nun run with some girls from my parish and that helped a lot! I also read one of the books mentioned before, A Right to Be Merry. It is a fabulous book regardless of if she wants to join a contemplative or active order. A website that helped me would have to be... http://www.religious-vocation.com/discerning_religious_vocation.html -and also- http://www.vocation.com/index.aspx
