Bits and Pieces of Our Days

Summer has arrived.

In Nebraska that means it is 91 degrees. Or 62 degrees. Or both, in the same day. Add high winds.

In my life that means I wonder why God gave me a husband who despises air conditioning and considers "95 degrees and humid" to be a little slice of heaven when I am the sort of woman who wilts in any temperature above 72.

We are beginning our annual adjustment to shared summer living space. Can you say, "I'll compromise if you will because I love you so much"?

~~~~~
These two are almost getting along. Not quite best friends yet, but they know how to compromise because they love us so much:
We were going to have the grandparents visiting this week, but they won't be able to make it because my poor mom broke her foot!  Heal quickly, Mom, and let's reschedule.
Anne and I had to go out, so Atticus took Betsy and Ramona to the carnival. Here's Ramona in the Scooby Doo Castle:
I have to say that I sometimes wish my family could be suspended in time so that I would never, ever miss certain moments and we could all be together, always.
(But I can pray we'll end up in that place, eh?)
I knew you were a woman after my own heart. Crank up the AC!
Your doggie looks so sweet!
Karen, whenever I feel sad that I don't have the unlimited hours I wish I had to hang out with and enjoy certain good holy individuals (including your family, since we're no longer in the same town), I think on what you alluded to - we'll get to know each other and enjoy each other plenty in heaven if we persevere in His love. Happy thought.
You and Atticus sound just like me and my husband. But after the 4th blown fuse this very hot week (from multiple window units) my darling husband actually uttered these words, "Maybe we should look into getting central a/c."!!!!!! I almost passed out! Of course, he has no idea how much it costs to retrofit our very old house, but it was the thought that counted.
BTW, I read through your book in a day-and-a-half and loved, loved, LOVED it! Thank you!!!
Thanks for your prayers, Laura.
Sue, she is possibly the sweetest dog in the world.
Skysaw, yes on Heaven, and "not so sure about that" on the holy individuals. :)
Mary Kate, that's true love! :) And, I'm so glad you enjoyed the book. Thank you so much.
