"Society needs artists, just as it needs scientists, technicians, workers, professional people, witnesses of the faith, teachers, fathers and mothers, who ensure the growth of the person and the development of the community by means of that supreme art form which is 'the art of education.' Within the vast cultural panorama of each nation, artists have their unique place. Obedient to their inspiration in creating works both worthwhile and beautiful, they not only enrich the cultural heritage of each nation and of all humanity, but they also render an exceptional social service in favour of the common good."Still coming down from a high with my own little artists. Last night we were all part of a little production at our church, The Tale of the Three Trees. I co-directed, Anne-with-an-e narrated, Betsy was the Blessed Mother, and they both played various parts in the chorus. Atticus dutifully attended and took fuzzy pictures and Ramona dutifully ran all over the gym after the show and later complimented and hugged her sisters.~~ Letter of his holiness Pope John Paul II

This morning, the girls are sleeping in. It's for the common good.
