Doing it all ...

... or not.

Since school has started up, I've been feeling like a not-so-prolific blogger. I know, I know ... it's okay with you, you understand, I've got my priorities in place ....

It's just that, I'd like to be blogging a bit more. But I'm still in the "let's figure out how our days are going and what can fit in where" stage.

And, as we all already know, we can't do it all.

We can't read blogs and write them, teach and mother three children, make a chocolate dessert, plan ahead for homeschooling, run a household, do some other writing, cook dinner, make a chocolate dessert, and be a devoted, adoring wife all at the same time. Some days, something's gotta give.

Hmmm ... maybe I need to move the chocolate a bit lower down the priority list.

Being out of town this weekend didn't help matters of scheduling. But the time spent with a dear friend, having lunch and coffee, wandering through bookstores, and catching up on each others' lives did help matters of refreshment. A lot. I highly recommend it.

Karen, I'm at the same place...and not just about the chocolate. I'm trying to do what's most important most consistently and finding that many things get dropped that I would like to hold on to. Even so, I go to bed every night knowing I did the most important things and I just can't have regrets.

Sounds like a great way to spend some time on a weekend. Now if you only lived closer...

I am glad that you had a nice weekend.

On my end, there was no weekend planning for this week, so today we are winging it. Hopefully I will play catch-up.

Eh, being prolific is overrated. You sound really, really busy and real life HAS to come first!

Erm, what kind of chocolate dessert? Inquiring minds want to know, and savor vicariously :)

Your weekend sounds lovely, Karen. Good for you.

I'm in the "not" camp, and I've decided that when going over my things to do, wanting to write more on my own blog doesn't even make it above the chocolate lol. Though I'm feeling quite a bit less constricted with our farm harvest finished. Now if only the carrots, beets, and potatoes left in the garden would sort themselves out!

Now between this post and the last one, I am thinking maybe you need to post a chocolate dessert recipe. Or maybe I've misunderstood something :-)

Do not move the chocolate...and if it is Mom's chocolate, don't even think about touching it!

I'm trying to get our routines in place, too. Let me know if you find a magic button somewhere.

Are you mad, woman? Move chocolate down the list of priorities?! Never! Housework should be sacrified. And that chocolate will give you a lovely sense of serenity about the fact your floors aren't clean.

Oh, and by the way: chocolate is an absolutely essential nutrient in every woman's diet. It's not on WW's 8 Healthy guidelines list, but I'm sure that's an oversight. I'm so sure in fact that chocolate was a more regular item in my diet (even while losing weight) than the olive oil that is on the list. Life without chocolate (especially during times of stress) is not a pretty sight.
