Easter with Ramona

While at the Easter Vigil, Ramona whispered to me, "Mommy, when we get home, can we read some books?"

Me: "It will be awfully late when we get home. I think we'll just go straight to bed."

Ramona, holding a finger to her chin, as if deep in thought: "I'll think about it."

Me: "No, I'll think about it."

Ramona looked at me, doubtful about my conclusion. "We'll both think about it," she pronounced.

A girl after my own heart:

Upon arriving home from the Vigil Mass, Ramona -- still clad in her winter coat, hat and scarf -- immediately shed her shoes and her tights.

Bundled, but with bare feet, she announced, "That's better!"

On Easter Sunday: "Mommy, may I have some more of this delicious and delectable chocolate?"

The answer (but then, you knew this) was a resounding yes. I joined her.

Have a delicious and delectable week-long celebration of the Octave of Easter! There are so many ways to celebrate.

Yes, somehow searching for Easter eggs isn't nearly as much fun when it involves scrambling among the dust bunnies as it does among the daffodils. Oh, well. Easter joy to everyone! Heidi Saxton
