Ramona uses her planner
Today, the kids got out their dollar store planners ... you know ... the ones I bought at the beginning of the school year because my thoroughly convincing children convinced me that they were desperately in need of planners and I (being a planner kind of gal) believed them?
Oh, silly me.
But I digress. Today -- November 14, mind you -- they got out their "new school year planners" and began planning ... stuff. I think. I don't know, because I got distracted by Ramona's planning. She had her planner open to the two-page December spread, and asked me what we were going to do on the day with a 6 in the square.
"Write EAT," I said. "E ... A ... T." So, she did.
"What will we do on the day with a 7 on it?"
"Write SLEEP. S ... L ... E ... E ... "
"Oops," said Ramona, "I wrote big. That's on the 8 day and the 9 day, too."
"That's okay," I said. "We plan to sleep on all of those days."
"Oh! Okay!" she said. "We'll hibernate!" She happily returned to her planning.
I must say, that's a plan with which I'm thoroughly on board.

That child always comes up with the best ideas!
My daughter wanted to play school yesterday. I asked, "We will get a nap time." "Of course!" she answered. I'm in!
Of course on November 23rd I am sure they have on their planners - Uncle Denny - Big Fire! Can't wait!
I think I have a 10/12ths empty planner every year. I just can't seem to fill them out consistently. Perhaps if I were to write "hibernate" through the months of nov-march (with a brief wake-up for Christmas), it might actually be accurate!
Hibernation sounds real good. I'm going to plan that, too.
That sounds great! I'll join you. :)
