Ramona: Mommy, I was taking Mr. Putter [editor's note: the cat] for a walk.
Me (with trepidation): Oh?
Ramona: Yes. His tail was the leash.
Me (reining in panic as I survey my child for big, bloody scratches as Mr. Putter has been known to bite things he doesn't like): Oh, no, Sweetie ... that's not a good way to take a kitty for a walk. He doesn't like that.
Ramona: No, it's okay, Mommy! Their tails don't pop off!
How does she do it?

I suspect that Ramona was letting Mr. Putter do the leading. If she held his tail (gently) from behind and simply went where he went... Well he might not mind. If she had dragged him by the tail I suspect you would have seen scratches. At least any self-respecting cat I've known would have scratched her.
So, just maybe, Mr. Putter was taking Ramona for a walk.
I'm glad to see Ramona stories again. I hope you are compiling all of these for a humorous book.
ROFLOL!
I can't stop laughing over this description, Karen. I can't wait for dh to get home to share it.
What a funny, lovely, simply classic child! : )
Be sure to send it to the Carnival of Children's Comedy...info provided at Bruggie Tales:

Oh my, that is fantastic! That really made me laugh out loud.
BTW, I just found your blog from Here in the Bonny Glen and I am definitely adding you to my reading list. You've made me think (the Alcott posts), tear up (the excerpt from the Prayer Book) and now laugh out loud in the space of just a few post. I'm looking forward to reading more!
Cay, I think I missed the carnival. I'll watch for the next one (I'm always late these days!)
Amber, thanks so much for taking the time to leave a comment, and thanks for such kind words!
And Liz, so far the "compilation" is just here on the blog, but at least I have ready access and usually title them "Ramona Something...." so I can find them in case I ever get around to a book. :-)
