I've climbed a lot of hills over the years. Oh, numerous hills, of multiple heights — over my lifetime, in the last four years, during this pandemic, and in the last two months of my parents' fight against Covid. So today's poem, by the lovely Amanda Gorman, written for the inauguration of Joe Biden and recited with grace and passion, seems fitting.
To all of you who have been so supportive and kind as both my parents battled Covid, I'm pleased to finally report that, while their fight isn't over yet, they are both progressing and improving every day. Thank you.
The Poetry Friday round-up is being hosted this week by Laura Shovan.
