Hope For Mothers Everywhere!

Today, during a major excavation of my daughters' room, Anne-with-an-e, age 17, said, "I really like a good declutter now and then."

Mothers and declutterers of the world, take heart and rejoice! Your children will not hoard forever! They will not save candy wrappers until they die! They will not insist on enshrining plastic keepsakes and cootie catchers for all eternity!

I am here to proclaim to you a great truth: They outgrow it!

Hang in there.

(This message brought to you by a mom whose kids are growing up all too fast.)

I fear this may only be true for girls.... Says the mother of 4 boys (15,12,8,3) and 2 girls (10,1). LOL!

I was about that age when the same thought occurred to me. Congratulations!

God bless you for this, which is more of an encouragement than you can imagine for this mother, truly! Only the mothers who live with these children can appreciate the depth of your succinct comments :)
Happy De-cluttering!

That certainly is good news! But I about fell off my chair when I read that your daughter is 17. My goodness, where does the time go??

I was just cleaning my son's room and wondering (stupidly) why he "saves" all the things he does, even envisioning him 10 years from now on an episode of Hoarders with all the papers, wrappers, etc. . . . then I realized that it's more a lack of going to the garbage than saving. Thanks for the smile.

How encouraging as I just spent a good chunk of the afternoon helping the older girls declutter and move to their new room downstairs. I can't believe what they treasure at their age. I never thought a plastic protector...you know those you peel off of a new electronic gadget to protect it from scratches...could be so valuable to warrant a shrine! Thanks again for stopping by our blog.;)

Oh, yes, that sounds exactly like something that was shrine-worthy around our house! :)
