We've been vacationing and will soon be returning to real life and laundry. We had a great time visiting the home of Laura Ingalls Wilder in Mansfield, Missouri. Naturally I forgot to pack the proper cord that would allow me to upload and blog my own photos, so I've plopped a stock photo of the house into this post. Real photos from the trip will soon follow.
We also visited family in Oklahoma and Arkansas, and while in Arkansas, a local woman (upon finding out that we'd be visiting Rocky Ridge) said, "Well, there isn't a lot there to see, but the history is pretty interesting."
Not a lot to see?
She had no idea what enormous Little House Geeks we Edmistens are.
While in the museum today, Ramona said, "Mommy, that lady in Arkansas was very, very wrong."

I love that place! You can really feel Laura's and Almanzo's presence. And can you believe how tiny she was to need such low kitchen counters?!
Well, apparently we are in the same "little house geek club". My daughter especially loves to take different tours of old houses. Her favorite was House of the Seven Gables in Salem, Mass. She loved the secret staircase.
We also belong to the "trains aren't just for little boys geek club."
In a word... JEALOUS. Can't wait to see pics!
Oooh very jealous. Can't wait to see all your pics.
Shannon, I used to live in Salem. The House of Seven Gables is one of my favorites too. My former roommate used to be a tour guide there.
