As we were talking about babies, and about how nice it is to have them around, Ramona said, "Yes, babies are a common household object."
Here's Ramona, when she was a baby:
Sigh. We haven't had that common household object around for such a long time.

While Ramona and Betsy were painting some Christmas crafts yesterday, Ramona asked if I could please change the water they were using to rinse their brushes.
"This water is vile!" she complained.
I would have simply called it "gray" but I like her passion.

Most kids Ramona's age provide humor by using vocabulary malappropriately. Ramona is an endless fountain of howls of mrith and delight because she uses vocabulary correctly!!
That's "mirth." Some of us several times Ramona's age can't spell...
She is SO adorable! I just love this picture. I wish that baby girl were a common household object around here, too!
Ramona is so delightful. I hope one day you compile her sayings into a special book for her (and perhaps the rest of us too!) It will be something for her - and her own common household objects - to treasure forever :-) (And so much prettier than a weblog link!)
Sarah, I do hope to get all the great quotes together into something pretty and worth saving someday.
Suzanne, wouldn't a baby girl at your house be just the thing? You need an ally. :)
And Skysaw, I agree -- it's her appropriate use that cracks me up.
