It's Catholic Schools Week

If you're Catholic ...
and you homeschool ...

you're

A Catholic School!.

Celebrate!

You are doing all that you can to give your child an authentic Catholic education. That's worth celebrating.

Personally, I think chocolate should be involved, but follow your own instincts. If your celebration is particularly interesting (with or without chocolate) drop me a line and let me know what you're doing.

Grrr. I actually wrote (but didn't post) a gigantic bitter rant on how Catholic HOMESCHOOLS were completely ignored this week in our parish - and whether the parish supports homeschoolers at all - and whether Catholic schools had become a thoroughly elitist institution. So thank you Karen, for acknowledging us (and yourself) for our desire to give our children a Catholic education - too.
* My bitterness was directed at a particular speaker, not our priest.

Jennifer is right...more attention needs to be given to this during CSW. Amen to that.

Karen, I left a little message for you today on my blog.

My lit girls are coming today. Perhaps I should run and quick make brownies to celebrate Catholic schools week. Since we're studying Dante's Purgatorio we're doing something more Catholic than most of the Catholic schools for literature. Brownies for lunch??? Hmm sounds pretty decadent.
