Truly, Madly, Deeply

Where has this movie been all my life?

I truly, madly, deeply loved Truly, Madly, Deeply. I realize I'm about sixteen years late to the fan club (but then, that's my modus operandi.)

Ignore the awful DVD cover.

Savor the quirky, sweet, funny, romantic, gut-wrenching, lovely details of this film.

Thanks, Karen,

Believe it or not, I haven't seen that movie either and you are inspiring me to watch it. Is it a chic flick or will hubby want to watch it too??

Love, Donna

Yes! One of my all time, absolute favourite films :)). Great script, great acting - low budget British cinema at its best.

I love, love, love Alan Rickman! Thanks for the recommendation.

Karen, I am highly skeptical... The English Patient, the film he made after that, made me so angry-- such an awful premise. Tell me some more!

Ana, I've never seen the English Patient (wasn't particularly attracted, knowing the main romance was an adulterous one) but this movie is truly one of my new favorites, for reasons I should actually do a separate post about.

Matilda, I think you'll love it! Kathryn, I'm not surprised at all that you love it, too. :-) Donna-Marie ... hmmm ... I made Atticus watch it with me last night (I mean ... I ASKED him if he'd watch it with me) and he really enjoyed it, but it would really depend on your husband's taste in movies. Does he like quirky?

Am I the only GUY who loves this movie? :-)

One of my all-time top ten. But then, Quirky isn't something I merely 'tolerate', it's something I practically need to have, in a film.

Other "romantic" movies that I love include Shadowlands, and "Before Sunrise" (1995) starring Ethan Hawke and Julie Delpy.

Well, clearly, even if you're the only one, you're a guy with good taste!

I've heard that "Before Sunrise" is excellent -- it's on my "to see" list.
