Birthdays in July
One is sixteen.
Sixty-one is another.
One is my daughter.
My husband's the other.

Ramona was, Atticus always says, his 45th birthday present.
Happy birthday to my old man and my youngest daughter!

I love it - short and to the point. I also love that you'll be able to save on candles :)
ReplyDeleteWishing both the happiest of birthdays! How very cool that this year brings that combination of numbers. :)
ReplyDeleteEnjoyed your poem! You know how a Golden Birthday is one where you turn the age of your birth date? It's too bad there isn't a term for being the backwards age of the family member born on the same day as you. Maybe a Chocolate Birthday?
ReplyDeleteLaughed at Sally's comment about saving on candles!
What a wonderful day! Happy birthday to both!
ReplyDeleteHooray! I love it when one can celebrate in rhyme.
ReplyDeleteCute poem. It reminds of the time my mom was 32, I was 16, and my brother was 8. I thought it was so funny. LOL
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday to your loves and the candles are much fun to see! It's a 'just-right" poem, Karen!
ReplyDeleteVery clever, Karen! Happy Birthday to everyone!
ReplyDeleteWhat a magical year! Happy birthday to the both of them!
ReplyDeleteI love the candle swap! Happy birthday to all! My son turned 23 this week!
ReplyDeleteHappy birthdays!
ReplyDeleteHappy (belated) Birthday! Somehow I think those two lines below the copyright are part of the poem. : )
