Poetry Friday: Emily Dickinson



I just felt like a little bit of Emily today.

    I think my FAVORITE Emily book last year was Susan Snively's Poetry for Kids (which Jama reviewed) where there are lovely illustrations of all of the poems. I love the brevity of that prairie poem, and the illustrations just took it over the top.

    Ahh...I'm sad that bees are becoming few, but good to remember that no matter what, we will always be capable of revery!

    Thanks for Emily Dickinson's poem Karen, it's perfect. Here's a short poem inspired by her poem "To make a prairie."

    Haloed Honey Bee

    I saw a honey bee
    busy in my backyard,
    and around it danced
    a halo of reverie,
    for only me to see.
