I'm so behind over there (at 4Real), and actually rarely visit the Montessori page. What serendipity that Fisher just came up!Karen Edmisten https://www.blogger.com/profile/04446214835142625161noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17019672.post-1158582445346418542006-09-18T07:27:00.000-05:002006-09-18T07:27:00.000-05:00Yes, Liz, it's wonderful! Thanks.

Jennie, definitely read it again. :)

And Becky -- yes! Wasn't that the best passage on history coming alive? Lucky Betsy ... I didn't have anyone do that for me until I was in college.Karen Edmisten https://www.blogger.com/profile/04446214835142625161noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17019672.post-1158532176648231122006-09-17T17:29:00.000-05:002006-09-17T17:29:00.000-05:00I'm so glad you've tried this one out,Karen. Of course, being in Vermont I should have read more of D.C.Fisher (we even have some in the local library), but I have to admit that I haven't. Maybe next week... Don't you just love the way the Putney cousins give Elizabeth Ann a chance to do things for herself (like cook!) and the way that the school teacher accepts her just the way she is instead of trying to make her be all grade 3?Lizhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05127202199834183627noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17019672.post-1158509785877351432006-09-17T11:16:00.000-05:002006-09-17T11:16:00.000-05:00I can't wait to read your thoughts, Karen. There was one chapter that just made me cry and I could barely finish reading it aloud, much to the confusion of my little children. Maybe we should read this one again.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
