Because I love to-do lists. Because life sometimes feels this way. Because I love Emily Dickinson so much.

I love "write poem/hide poem."
Who hasn't done that?

LOVE this poem SO much. So pure, so true.

I love the "write poem/hide poem", too. Occasionally I find a forgotten, hidden poems tucked into a book or in a stack of paperwork. I wonder where Emily hid them.

Hi, Karen. I remember reading this at Writers Almanac and thinking "Wow." It's an amazing portrait. List poems have a richness -- both what's on the list and what's implied by that which is not on the list.
