Post-Christmas Guilt. Or Not.

On Christmas day, as the dog blissfully gnawed and slobbered on a gargantuan rawhide bone, I walked into my bedroom and saw the cat cozily napping on my bed. I felt a little bad that we didn't get him a present. For about three seconds. Because then I remembered -- as I looked at him owning that bed -- that his whole life is a present.

Except, of course, when Ramona has dressed him in this:

Well, the cat looks a lot calmer than he could...

Most blessed peace and happiness to you and yours for the new year.

LOL! Not sure why, but this totally cracked me up! Maybe it's the look of disgust mixed with resignation on that cat's face. Too funny!

Wishing peace and happiness to you, too, Tanita!

And Theresa, I love the disgusted resignation, too. :)

Lol! We always get our pets gifts, and I felt guilty this year because we gave them to them a couple of days early. Yeah, like pets can tell it's not *actually* Christmas Day. Besides, my dog was in heaven, Christmas morning - we kept throwing presents (ie, scrunched up wrapping paper) to her.

Haha that made me laugh. My husband was in despair that I had carefully set aside turkey cat food for our cat Boots for Christmas Day.

Our cat's whole life is a present too.

Oh my goodness, Karen! I just shared this post with my boys and we're laughing ourselves silly!

Your kitty looks a lot like our Oliver ... and no, he does not look as "content" as Archie in that second picture. ;D

LOL!

Blessings to you!

I'm afraid I see nothing funny in degrading animals by dressing them up. They're animals to be respected, not toys.

Martha, I can assure you this kitty is dearly loved and *fully* capable of letting a little girl know when he's had enough of her. :) He can and does take care of himself and his life with us is a gift (on both sides.)

I think he's doing far better than he was when we rescued him from the pound, administered three rounds of antibiotics for his uti's and took care of his broken leg.

Sarah, Sunshine and Dawn, thanks for laughing with us.
