"It is funny because the squirrel gets dead."

You'll have to see the wonderful, creative, original, touching (I cried within the first ten minutes) hilarious (I have deep admiration for that dog humor) movie Up to get the post title.

We took out a small loan and carted the whole family to the film. It was worth the monthly payments we'll be making. Atticus (and the rest of us) laughed out loud, and Anne, Betsy and I all cried. Several times. And, the 3-D was spectacularly fun.

So, if you're debating a bathroom makeover vs. going to the movies with your family, opt for the movies. Who really cares what your vanity looks like, anyway?

And, the squirrel gets dead (but not on camera, and no actual squirrels were harmed in the making of the movie.)

Are you sure that Atticus didn't cry? One can get away with a lot in that darkened theater...

Well, I can't be entirely sure, because there was a Ramona between us. :)

This is how we spent our Father's Day. Like you, and even though we ONLY had three kids with us that day, we had to take out a small loan to go, but it was worth it!

I want to see it so much! Sadly, we don't live near a theatre. :(

I do believe I cried through three quarters of that movie. I nearly had to leave, but didn't because it was so, so good.

Sounds like a beautiful family movie. Debating whether we splurge and see it in big-name theatre or wait and pay less at the second-run theatre in a few months....hmmm.
