I'm working on it

"Some say it is unreasonable to be courteous and gentle with a reckless person who insults you for no reason at all. I have made a pact with my tongue; not to speak when my heart is disturbed."

~~ St. Francis de Sales

Also brilliant - perhaps the best marital advice I've ever heard.

Karen, as I bask in the light that's now flowing freely from the kitchen as I hover over my laptop (breaking my rule of offline evenings, what a treat it is!) - I can't help but feel that THIS QUOTE was directed at ME. (Not by you, either, but by God.) Something happened over the weekend (aside from the electricity going puke-ola when that hurricane hit OHIO!) that has been troubling. I've been quiet about it, but I was sort of wondering if I was wise about that quietness, that pondering, that thoughtfulness. I think, after all, that maybe yes, it was OK.

More than you needed to know. Forgive me. I'm glowing from all the lights I've turned on. :)
