Flannery O'Connor on writing and faith

Thanks to Barry Michaels, via Catholic Writers Online, for tipping us off to this great quote from Flannery O'Connor:
"I feel that if I were not a Catholic I would have no reason to write, no reason to see, no reason ever to feel horrified or even to enjoy anything."
The quote is from Flannery O'Connor's Vision of Faith, Church and Modern Consciousness, a lecture given recently by the Archbishop of San Francisco, George H. Niederauer. The entire lecture can be read here (pdf file.)

I really enjoyed reading Flannery O'Connor in college. Though I always associate peacocks with her now - LOL!
