A poetry treasure

Nancy, in the comments on Poetry Friday, sent me to this site, the Internet Poetry Archive, at which you can listen to Richard Wilbur read "The Writer", among other poems.

You can also hear Seamus Heaney ... gorgeous.

Who knew?

Thank you, Nancy, thank you.

Oh, how I love what the internet can offer ... poetry, and blogs, and people who comment and share such riches.

Oooh! I caught a snippet of Hilaire Belloc reading his own poetry on the radio recently, thanks to the amazing BBC sound archive. I wonder if there is any Belloc, Chesterton or C.S.Lewis "live" on the internet? Off to Google ...

No Belloc, but I found G.K.Chesterton and C.S.Lewis. The links are on my blog. Enjoy!

I love Seamus Heaney's voice. I got to hear him read a couple of times when I was in grad school at Boston College. One of the best things about the Irish studies program there. And I have several tapes of him reading his poetry and they are delightful. And a real not to miss is his recording of his translation of Beowulf.

Now I'm going to go listen to the Chesterton and Lewis....
