That's my Betsy they're threatening with OoP

Thanks to Faith for alerting us to the fact that the Betsy-Tacy books are in danger of going out of print.

We are Betsy-Tacy lovers here (my blog name for Middle Daughter -- Betsy Ray -- probably gave that away, huh?) and I would hate to see these lovely, gentle books go out of print. Write to Harper Collins and let them know how you feel.

I heard about this. We loved Besty-Tacy and Tib. It is so frustrating what the publishers and book stores chose to make available. I am searching resale shops for Carolyn Haywood's Betsy books.

I'm glad you brought this back to my attention, I think this afternoon may be the perfect time to practice writing letters!

Karen-thanks for bringing this to our attention. We are a few years off from Betsy-Tacy. Those who know about the books will still be able to find them. It just saddens me that there are new generations of mothers who will not know to offer them to their girls.

If you want to write to HarperCollins, you can email:

Susan.Katz@harpercollins.com

Stress how much you love the books but describe how you have introduced the books to new and enthusiastic readers. Simply hearing that you are a fan won't influence them because they need to know the books can support themselves financially. I wish they would do a Reading Group guide in the back of the books or online. That might help stimulate sales...
