Post-Pentecost

I just read a beautiful post at Family in Feast and Feria about Pentecost. Jenn says:

After this grace-filled moment, we cannot stay in the Upper Room. We have to go forth to know, love and serve God. That is what the Ordinary Time is for us: the manifestation of the Holy Spirit descending upon the Church. Here we learn, grow, and live with the graces left by the Holy Spirit. We have different feasts of saints throughout the next few months that give us examples of how to answer the inner voice of the Holy Spirit, and how to be soldiers of Christ.

What a perfectly lovely way to say that there is nothing ordinary about ordinary time, although Jenn also spells out why it's called "ordinary" time, which really has nothing to do with being commonplace.

And, see this post from Jenn's food blog for a definition of "feria."

I agree ... I love Ordinary Time for that reason.

And yes, Meredith, Jenn has a great blog and is such a wealth of information!
