We're living on Planet Frog

Or, more accurately, Planet Tadpole at the moment. These little guys, as far as I know, won't be eating each other, as our triops did, provided we feed them regularly. I'll keep you posted, though.

They arrived in the mail yesterday, purchased from Uncle Milton via our local Hobby Lobby store. One of them looked "really most sincerely dead." It was gone, or so we thought. But,the instructions urged us to give them 24 hours to recover from "shipping shock."

And it worked. They've recovered and they're both moving and eating. We hope to witness the entire, amazing metamorphosis. I don't know what the success rate usually is with these things (I know it works in the wild, but does it always work in Uncle Milton's world?) but if all goes as planned, Ramona may actually get to buy some of those tiny little crickets she always covets at the pet store ....

I hope so, Alice! We had some friends keeping tadpoles last year, and they never grew into frogs. Can't remember where they got them, though.

I'll keep you posted!
